What is MUN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation in which students take on the roles of diplomats representing different countries in the United Nations. Participants research global issues, debate real-world challenges, and work together to create solutions through discussion, negotiation, and cooperation. MUN helps students develop public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership skills while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and global citizenship.
Who can participate?
This Model United Nations conference is open to middle school students from schools across the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Students who are interested in global issues, debate, and collaboration are encouraged to attend, regardless of prior MUN experience.
