At Maury MUN, delegates are expected to participate with respect, integrity, and dedication. All students must treat others with courtesy. Bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Delegates should come prepared, having researched their country and topic, and complete a position paper, which must be emailed to the committee chair before the conference. Position papers are required for award consideration.
During the conference, delegates will engage in debate and negotiation without the use of technology; all resolutions and notes must be written by hand. Academic honesty is essential, plagiarism or presenting others’ work as your own is not allowed, and when caught will result in disciplinary action. Success in Maury MUN comes from hard work, active participation, and a commitment to collaboration, helping create a positive and productive experience for everyone.
Delegates should aim for business-style attire—neat, clean clothes like button-down shirts, blouses, dress pants or skirts, and dress shoes. Jeans, shorts, and sneakers should be avoided.
Don’t worry—your outfit won’t affect your points. Just do your best to fit the professional category so you feel confident and ready to participate. Personal style is welcome as long as clothing is respectful and appropriate.
